The Idaho Geological Survey (IGS) is seeking a Research Support Geologist to support grant-funded geologic mapping and structural geology research projects in Idaho. Based in Moscow, Idaho, this position works closely with IGS research geologists to collect, analyze, and interpret field and spatial data; develop geologic maps and cross sections; and contribute to scientific reports and publications. The successful candidate will participate in field investigations focused on geologic mapping and structural geology, integrate diverse geologic datasets, and help advance understanding of Idaho’s geologic framework. The position requires independent fieldwork in rugged terrain, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with IGS staff and external partners from government agencies, academia, and industry.
