The Maryland Geological Survey has an opening for a Geologist I who will be asked to perform a variety of duties. This position is for an early career, entry level scientist who has a variety of knowledge. Duties of this position include assisting other staff geologists with a variety of scientific projects, actively promoting and participating in educational outreach at several levels to educate the public about the importance of living in harmony with our environment and protecting our natural resources, providing Library assistance to customers, answering many inquiries and information requests from the public related to the geology of Maryland and to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Publications Sales Office. This position performs other duties that are assigned to complete all tasks associated with this job’s functions and support the mission of the Maryland Geological Survey. While no experience is required, having knowledge and understanding of the Geology of Maryland, experience in customer service and/or database software is desired. The position is located in Baltimore, Maryland.
