Washington is currently recruiting for a 2-year Natural Resource Scientist 3 (Economic Geoscientist) position in the Survey’s Geologic Mapping Program to work on a 15-minute framework geologic map of the Orient quadrangle in far Northeast Washington and to inventory and characterize mine waste. This position will conduct new geologic mapping, compile existing mapping, create an inventory of known mine sites across the state with potential waste (tailings and such), and characterize some of those sites with geochemistry.
